Ya'acov Teitel

Response for the arrest of Ya'acov Teitel:

Shevut-Rachel is a Yishuv with a diverse character whose residents number 120 families.
The administrative board of Shevut-Rachel and its residents are extremely shocked by the accusations against Ya'acov Teitel. He and his family are known to be a kind, calm and quiet family who have lived in Shevut-Rachel for almost 6 years. The Teitel family is very much a part of the community of Shevut-Rachel and family life plays an integral role in their lives.
The Yishuv condemns all acts of violence. We, as a yishuv, believe that the judicial system will reach the truth and we hope and pray that the suspicions against Ya'acov Teitel will prove to be false. At the same time we would like to state publicly that in a democratic country, a person is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. We have already encountered situations where people who have been assumed to be guilty by the media, later are found to be innocent by the courts. As long as Ya'acov Teitel has not been found guilty, we believe in his innocence.
We strongly object to the attempt by certain people to try to gain a political advantage through this arrest by tarnishing the name of this family, the Yishuv and settlements in general.

Thanks: T.G. & Y.G.
